Last day of the long weekend

27 Apr 2014, Posted by michellerusli in Uncategorized

Hello!   It has been quiet sometime since I last blogged. I’ve been meaning to do it but just haven’t got around to doing it yet. I sincerely apologize for the wait! Life has been so busy, especially after starting my first full time job, things have change I look forward to Friday night, the weekend and all sorts of public holidays. Before it didn’t really matter because I was a contractor and I could take breaks in between now and then. Now everything has really changed. 2014 has been a great year so far. I’ve met so many awesome people and passing probation was probably the happiest thing that happened to me this year, all the stress and hard work has finally paid off. Now I’ll just have to wait for the next chapter of my life. Below are some of the photos I took this year. Some using my brand new camera Fuji x100s !! I finally got it! So Happy!

Hello Paris. I’m Back

29 Dec 2013, Posted by michellerusli in Europe, scenery, Travel

In 2013 I got to visit Paris again. I’ve always love Paris, everything about the city is remarkably fascinating and of course one of the reason why I’m here was to go shopping again. I can’t resist purchasing Prada and LV. They are so much cheaper there than they are back in Sydney. Apart from shopping I also like to take sometime off for a little wonder around the city, looking at the their beautiful scenery and the city as a whole. Below are some photographs I took from the tallest tower in Paris ‘Montparnasse’.

Melbourne Cup Luncheon 2013

18 Nov 2013, Posted by michellerusli in 2013, Work

On the same day as the Buunji Conference I was assigned to go to another venue to capture the Melbourne cup Luncheon at Dock side it was a completely different atmosphere, everyone was all dressed up ready for this special day. Where people bet on their favourite horses hoping to won some sort of money in return. I must say that I love the decoration of the room especially the table setting with the horses lamp at the center it really accentuate the whole meaning behind the theme. Below are some of the photos I took from this event.

Buunji 2013

15 Nov 2013, Posted by michellerusli in photography, Work

I was one of the assigned photographers for the Buunji 3 days conference that took place at the Sydney Convention Center. This may possibly be the last time I get to photograph in this area. The building would be removed by the end of this year. It’s sad in a way that it would cover the view from my house (I live literally 5 mins away from here) this means that I can no longer see the fireworks! 🙁 but it’s good that they are building something bigger and better for our community. The Buunji Conference was amazing esp the Gala Dinner, the events company that I work for has done an brilliant job! So proud of them! Honestly, we have been preparing for this event for quiet some time now. I got to work on some of the designs for their signs, banners, you name it! I got to even work behind the registration desk. So finding the guest name and giving them their programs bags. Which was fun! If your still wondering what the conference is all about, make sure you visit their website, which was also designed by one of my colleagues Martin – Here is the link Buunji.com.au

Aurelie’s 5th birthday Party

13 Nov 2013, Posted by michellerusli in aurelie salim, birthday

Aurelie had her 5th birthday recently. It took place at Mc Donald’s where she invited her friends from pre-school and ballet classes. She had an amazing time dancing to her favourite songs, playing on the slides and etc. There was definitely less work for my sister in terms of gifts and decorating the area as it was all covered by Mc Donalds. Hence if you’re ever thinking of a place to celebrate your child’s birthday I suggest you to have it at Mc D.

Bangkok – Pattaya – Chonburi – Laos Thailand

27 May 2013, Posted by michellerusli in 2013, Bangkok, family, laos, Thailand, Travel, trip, vientian

Super lucky to have wonderful parents who’ve loved me so much and cared for me since the day I was born. and yes you guess it, they took me on a trip to Thailand and Laos. I’ve been travelling so much this year that I couldn’t keep count. So I really thank them for giving me this opportunity to see more of the world. What is Thailand like? if you ask me for my honest opinion it’s amazing this must be the 3rd time I’ve been there and I’m still not sick of it. ( of course I’ll show you all the photos I took ) didn’t take much this time,  please excuse me as I was too busy shopping and buying things for myself and gifts for friends and families. ( I did take a lot with my Iphone though 🙂 ) As for Laos, the food is super yummy, but it’s not the type of place where you could stay for very long. It’s a small and poor country, it’s sad to see a majority of their citizens struggling to live. but it’s a really good experience to see their culture. one word that I’ve learn in Laos was kop chai meaning thank you and Sabaidee meaning hello. Slightly different to Thai.

Puncak – Indonesia

26 Jan 2013, Posted by michellerusli in 2013, banjir 2013, indonesia, jakarta, landscape, nature, puncak, scenery, view

I’m so glad to start of the year by travelling back to my home county Jakarta Indonesia. However it wasn’t what I’ve expected it to be, Jakarta has been flooding severely, the citizens live in hunger, lost of home as well as sickness. I was lucky enough to live in the apartment, although there was flood in my area I wasn’t affected by it much. Except for the lack of food, we had to cook with what was left in our fridge, as there was no delivery in our area.    The rain has been going on non stop for the last couple of weeks to avoid the risk of being locked at home again. My family has decided to fled out to the mountains area, where there wasn’t any flood there   Here are some on the photos I took !! The view is breathtaking! Would love to return here again someday.
