This time I went to Japan in September the weather is nice and warm and my family will always either cook at home or take me out to nice restaurants in Kyoto Area. Japanese food are so tasty and they are also package very nicely especially the bento boxes. Food is definitely one the the thing I miss about Japan when I am in Australia. Below are some of photos I took on our trip to Japan.

Buunji 2013

I was one of the assigned photographers for the Buunji 3 days conference that took place at the Sydney Convention Center. This may possibly be the last time I get to photograph in this area. The building would be removed by the end of this year. It’s sad in a way that it would cover the view from my house (I live literally 5 mins away from here) this means that I can no longer see the fireworks! 🙁 but it’s good that they are building something bigger and better for our community. The Buunji Conference was amazing esp the Gala Dinner, the events company that I work for has done an brilliant job! So proud of them! Honestly, we have been preparing for this event for quiet some time now. I got to work on some of the designs for their signs, banners, you name it! I got to even work behind the registration desk. So finding the guest name and giving them their programs bags. Which was fun! If your still wondering what the conference is all about, make sure you visit their website, which was also designed by one of my colleagues Martin – Here is the link Buunji.com.au

My Niece Natalie

My brother and sister in law ask me to take photo of their daughter ‘Natalie’, just so that they could use it as her passport photo!  oh isn’t it difficult to photograph kids standing still!, I guess they like to run around and play! So it was definitely challenging, but I love the result of these photos! Thankfully I could capture them within two mins, just before she starts crying again!

Sorry guys I know that I’m really slow when it comes to updating this blog but thats because I’ve been caught up with work, doing 3 internship & a part-time photography job is not easy. But I am definitely enjoying them alot. I’ve learnt and met a lot of amazing people in the industry in which I’m really grateful for. Also, I can’t thank you enough for my two mentors Wiki Lee and Ilona Lee who have changed my life and passion for photography. They are clearly someone whom I looked up to a lot and so please check out their website and contact them for wedding photographies, videos and cinematography Foto Expression and Wiki Lee. Below you’ll find a series of images that I took at my first photography workshop with photo expression, it’s not that great. But I can definitely see a lot of improvements. so let me know what you guys think 🙂 Ps: Ryan and Jamie is so cute and adorableee 😉 I’m so in love with them 🙂

T2 Green Rose

Today I visited one of Australia’s largest tea stores called “T2” they are famous for selling a range of loose leaf tea, herbal tisanes and amazing tea wares. The shop itself is very artistic and modernize, I love to simply go there and try their new range of teas. My favourite tea from their store is the Buddha Tears which was sold out so I had to buy another one of my favourites which was the “Green Rose” tea. Although the tea can be quiet pricey at times but the quality and the taste is high commendable and of course the tea would last you for quiet some times.

High Tea at Sir Stamford

25 Jun 2011, Posted by michellerusli in food, high tea, photography

Last week I visited a place around the Circular Quay area to have High Tea and let me tell you the food is very filling with just $44 in total, you get to have a three tier stand filled with afternoon tea with a tea of your choice and a champagne or juice. On the first level you were offered with an assortment of savoury sandwiches like the famous smoked salmon with cream cheese sandwich. On the second level you get to have a strawberry tartlet, cupcake with cream, chocolate mouse with cherry, cream pudding and finally on the top level you get to have two scones served with cream and jams. I was surprised with the interior of the place it looks very classic and high class and what I find even more surprising is that there are rarely any men having afternoon tea the whole place is filled with women only unlike other high tea place where it isn’t as obvious. Rate: Food: 2/5 ( A majority of the food is just too sweet for me) Service: 2/5 Value: 3/5 Ambiance: 3/5

Yok Yor

21 Jun 2011, Posted by michellerusli in food, photography

Today me and Sai went to visit a new Thai restaurant on Castlereagh st called “Yok Yor“. Honestly I thought the shop looked really nice but the food itself wasn’t that great. I ordered “Boat Noodle soup” and it was tasteless so Sai had to reinvent the taste by placing some soy sauce and chilli  sauce into the soup. We also ordered another dish that was recommended by the chef and it was the stir fry pork with rice and I thought the taste was a little bit better off. The shop itself is still very new so over the month or so it might get better. So don’t take my critics into too much of a consideration. However one thing I love about the restaurant is their menu I thought it was very creative and the details has been cleverly laid out. and finally one last negative comment about the shop is that it has a very poor ventilation we couldn’t stop coughing as the chef was cooking. So hopefully this will be fixed sometimes soon.
